Welcome to the information page for researchers at the University Hospitals and the Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences!
We are happy to support you with your questions about Open Access and publishing in general. Here you will find information on funding opportunities for Open Access publication costs and on making your KL-affiliated publications visible in our publication database.
How do I find a suitable Journal for my publication?
You can find the most important journals in your subject area e.g. at Scopus. Make sure that the journal you have selected is listed in at least one of the following three places:
The research portal KRIS presents the entire research output of the researchers at Karl Landsteiner University. The portal enables a convenient search for research outputs, persons and organisational units. Publications as well as research projects, awards and memberships are presented in a uniform and clear manner on KRIS. KRIS enables the networking of experts and ensures the visibility of public research activities.
How do I clearly allocate my publications to me and the KL?
Step 1: State your ORCID
Whenever possible, include your ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) in your publications. If you do not have an ORCID yet, register for free at https://orcid.org/. Your ORCID clearly identifies you as the author or contributing person in the context of publication activities, i.e. your scientific publications will not be mistakenly ascribed to anyone with a similar or identical name (see also problems with umlauts, "sharp S" in names, name changes, etc.).
An ORCID makes your research output more visible and listing your publications (also under parallel or previous affiliations - ORCID is independent of institution) becomes easier. You can use interfaces to other "Researcher IDs" free of charge, e.g. to your "Scopus Author ID" (Elsevier) or your "Web of Science ResearcherID" (Clarivate Analytics). However, in contrast to these two identifiers ORCID is not proprietary and has open interfaces to many other systems through which your publications can then also be imported into your ORCID profile: e.g. Pubmed, BASE, CrossRef.
Manage your academic identity and no longer risk confusion when it comes to your personal research and publication achievements and their visibility. Useful information and online tutorials for ORCID can be found on OpenCampus (Information in German only).
