International Experience for Students of Psychology

Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences (KL) welcomes and supports student mobility. Psychology students can gain international experience as part of their study time through internships abroad. In the near future students will also have the opportunity to study for a semester abroad.

International Internships
Students of Psychology may complete an international internship. The internship abroad can be completed internationally as a FreeMover or in other EU countries also through the Erasmus+ program. To be eligible for Erasmus+ funding, the internship abroad must last at least 60 days. The internship can be completed at any institution where experienced psychologists work.

Internship location
Regardless of whether the internship abroad is completed as a FreeMover or as an Erasmus+ participant, it is the student's responsibility to organize an internship placement. For this purpose, KL recommends that students contact the internship site of their choice at least 6 months before the start of the internship.

Recognition of the internship abroad at KL
The internship abroad must meet the criteria of the Psychology program at KL. KL recommends that the content of the internship and the internship site itself are agreed in advance with the Psychology program director at KL for the purpose of receiving approval from the Psychology program director prior to the stay abroad.

Semester abroad
At the moment KL is in the process of establishing partnerships for a semester abroad. As soon as the opportunity to study abroad is available, more detailed information will be published here.
