The Karl Landsteiner University Council has five members. The members of the University Council also serve as members of the Supervisory Board. The Works Council of Karl Landsteiner University also appoints three representatives to the Supervisory Board.

Academic interests are represented at KL by the University Senate. In accordance with Section 2.6 of the Statutes of Karl Landsteiner University for Health Sciences (as of 05.10.2021), the Senate comprises the following members with voting rights: student representatives, representatives of the university hospitals associated with KL, representatives of the academic staff employed at KL, and one representative of the non-academic staff employed at KL.
