Mission Statement of the Division of Clinical Psychology
As a sub-discipline of psychology, clinical psychology deals with the biological, social, developmental, behavioural, cognitive and emotional basis and effects of mental disorders and other diseases that influence the experience and behaviour of people.
The Division of Clinical Psychology is located at the University Hospital for Psychosomatic Medicine in Eggenburg. Its research activities focus on empirical studies in the area of inpatient interdisciplinary treatment of mental illness.
Main areas of research:
- Social Cognition / Theory of Mind
- Electronic routine outcome monitoring (eROM), especially patient-reported outcomes (PROs)
- Trauma and stress-related disorders and personality disorder
- Gender-specific aspects
