Mission Statement of the Division of Clinical Psychology

As a sub-discipline of psychology, clinical psychology deals with the biological, social, developmental, behavioural, cognitive and emotional basis and effects of mental disorders and other diseases that influence the experience and behaviour of people.

The Division of Clinical Psychology is located at the University Hospital for Psychosomatic Medicine in Eggenburg. Its research activities focus on empirical studies in the area of inpatient interdisciplinary treatment of mental illness.

Social Cognition / Theory of Mind
Electronic routine outcome monitoring (eROM), especially patient-reported outcomes (PROs)
Trauma and stress-related disorders and personality disorder
Gender-specific aspects

Teaching

Our research work in the field of clinical psychology is an essential part of the scientific further education of the students. With many practical examples, these are brought closer to the students in the bachelor's and master's degrees.

Research

Research activities focus on the "modification of experience, decision-making and behavior", especially with regard to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with various mental disorders.
