Research

The Division of Clinical Psychology is located at the University Hospital for Psychosomatic Medicine in Eggenburg. Its research activities focus on the "Modification of experience, decision making and behavior", especially with regard to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with various mental disorders. 

Main research topics:

  • Electronic routine outcome monitoring (eROM) in psychiatry, clinical psychology and psychotherapy, especially the systematic collection, evaluation and documentation of patient self-reports, so-called patient-reported outcomes (PROs)
  • Social Cognition / Theory of Mind in the context of various mental disorders
  • Trauma and stress-related disorders, including complex post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Borderline personality disorder
  • Evaluation and further development of interdisciplinary inpatient treatment of mental illnesses, including psychiatric-psychosomatic rehabilitation
  • Psychosocial care research (e.g. on the psychotherapeutic care situation)
  • Gender-specific aspects in the development, course, diagnosis and treatment of various mental disorders
