KL Building receives Gold Plus Standard for energy-efficient use

Gold Plus Standard for the KL - Already the second award within one year for the KL building.

At the Vienna Congress for Sustainable Building (BauZ), the Austrian Society for Sustainable Building (ÖGNB) and KLIMAAKTIV Building and Renovation this year awarded KL University Building as one of 30 projects to be particularly sustainable. Thus, Prorector Sabine Siegl and Facility Management Manager Edith Zeinler together with Karl Dorninger (LAD3) and FM-plus Managing Directors Andrea Haftner and Philip Weitz received the second award for construction within one year.

The KLIMAAKTIV building standard is available for residential buildings and various types of service buildings for new construction and refurbishment. All criteria catalogs are developed after a 1,000 point system, on the basis which the buildings can be evaluated and compared rapidly, besides the evaluation makes measurability and transparency possible on the basis standardized criteria.

KLIMAAKTIV focuses on climate protection and energy efficiency. The award-winning buildings cover a wide range of usage categories: Residential buildings, office and service buildings, nursing homes and hospitals, schools and universities and, most recently, ÖBB company buildings represent a representative cross-section of the Austrian building industry. The target values of KLIMAAKTIV and ÖGNB are designed in such a way that high-quality awards have been well below the targets of the EU Building Directive for years.
