Admission interviews for the "Bachelor Health Sciences" completed
This week the KL admission interviews for the Bachelor Study Programme Health Sciences starting in the winter term 2018/19 were completed.
Yesterday, the admission procedure ended for one of the 70 coveted study places for the "Bachelor of Health Sciences", the first part of KL's medical studies (part two is the postgraduate Master's programme in Human Medicine), ended. 192 applicants, half of the total applicants, received an invitation to the second part of the admission procedure after passing the written entrance test. In two days at six situational interview and role-playing stations, they were "put through their paces" with regard to their motivation, their values and their social skills.
These so-called "Multiple Mini Interviews" are used by many universities, especially in the Anglo-American region, in the application process for medical studies. Prof. Michael Schmidts, head of the education unit at KL explains: "In classical interviews, the evaluation result often depends too much on the people who conduct the interview. Professor A can arrive at substantially different assessments than Professor B. The Multiple Mini Interview offers more stable and therefore also "fairer" results. In addition, there are role-plays with actors and actresses. Here we learn much more about the social skills of our applicants than in a theoretical interview".
The results will be announced by 5 July at the latest.
