Reprint of the book: Psychotherapy and Gender. Concepts. Research. Practical Appliance

Springer Publishing House currently released a reprint of the book „Psychotherapy and Gender. Concepts. Research. Practical Appliance“ by Dr Brigitte Schigl, MSc.

The book analyses the importance of gender as a determining factor in psychotherapeutical and consulting processes on differing levels of theory. It offers an overview of the status quo of international research alongside individual findings on the topic and applies this to the practical work of psychotherapy and consulting.  The book discusses phases of the process, dynamics in relationships and thematic hot spots at which gender becomes an issue for professionals and their clients. Fot the analysis of individual practice tips with an ample amount of examples, tools, and question-checklists are provided.

Dr Brigitte Schigl, MSc. heads the study course „Psychotherapie and Consulting Sciences“ with the focus Gender and Diversity at Karl Landsteiner Private University For Health Sciences; she is Professor at the Department for Psychotherapie and Biopsychosocial Health at Danube University. Ms Schigl also works as Training Therapist (Integrative Therapy) and Teaching Supervisor in training of psychotherapeuts and supervisors and practices as psychotherapist and supervisor in her own practice.

For her including the research results of her extensive analyses on gender and diversity aspects into the current study programme at KL is of utmost importance. KL features a bachelor study programme on „Psychotherapy and Consulting Sciences“, which sets a focus on gender and diversity health issues and especially facilitates the scientific competency of its graduates.
