Start of the KL talk series "Gesundheitsperspektiven" with a panel discussion about gender medicine.

KL discusses gender medicine with a keynote speech of Univ.-Prof. Kautzky-Willer

Under the heading "Sex, Gender und individualisierte Medizin" KL startet this week with the talk series "GESUNDHEITSPERSPEKTIVEN" with a panel discussion about gender medicine. The discussion participants were: university professor for gender medicine Dr. Kautzky-Willer, KL researcher for gender issues and psychotherapist Dr. Schigl, specialist for sports medicine Prim. Dr. Podolsky and rector of KL Univ.-Prof. Dr. Mallinger.

Women should do more physical activity: girls and women excercise too little according to the world health organisation WHO. This affects among other things the bone health negatively and leads to overweight at menopause. During the discussion the experts have warned once more of the risk of smoking - in particular for women - and alcohol.

With the talk series "Gesundheitsperspektiven" KL university makes it to their goal to track top-themes of medicine and health sciences and to discuss them with the interested public.
