The Competence Centre for Gerontology and Health Research deals with socio-economic and socio-cultural conditions for an active and self-determined lifestyle of ageing people and develops innovative approaches to solutions for care structures in the field of health promotion and care.

The Competence Centre for Gerontology and Health Research headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Mag. Franz Kolland is a multidisciplinary institution and is funded by the Lower Austrian Health and Social Fund (NÖGUS). On the one hand, national and international basic research projects are carried out and, on the other hand, applied projects in the field of gerontotechnology, health promotion, health care and nursing.
