The city of Krems an der Donau is the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Wachau and is rightly called THE educational capital of Lower Austria. A total of 15,000 students divided among five universities characterise the cityscape. Around 250 of these students are currently studying at the KL. The numerous cultural and leisure activities, the wonderful location on the Danube surrounded by vineyards and the historical flair of the city contribute significantly to the fact that you can enjoy your time at university and feel at home here.
The small town not only offers many reasons to study, it also promises recreation, for example, during a walk or a bicycle tour along the banks of the Danube. Enjoy expansive views on a hike across the terraces of the vineyards or take a musical or culinary theme tour by boat. Experience modern art in the cultural mile in the centre of Krems or taste regional delicacies at the winegrowers and Heurigen.
With a population of around 25,000, Krems is one of the oldest towns in Lower Austria and was first mentioned in a document in 995. Historic buildings characterise the townscape and give it a unique flair. On streets and squares, in monasteries and churches, town houses and fortified buildings, one encounters more than a thousand years of history. A walk through the old town of Krems and Stein is always worthwhile. Afterwards, the Danube banks, parks, city cafés, restaurants and wine taverns invite you to linger and enjoy. Krems has one of the most beautiful and at the same time busiest pedestrian zones in Austria, where shopping becomes an experience.

Kolpinghaus Campus Krems
The Kolpinghaus Campus Krems is located right next to the campus and surrounded by vineyards. All rooms are modernly equipped with satellite TV, internet connection, kitchenette, shower and WC. There is a cafeteria with terrace on the ground floor. Event rooms and seminar rooms are also available.
