Perioperative and palliative systemic treatments for biliary tract cancer
Recent publication
Dr Hossein Taghizadeh MSc PhD from the Division of Internal Medicine 1 at the University Hospital St Pölten and colleagues from other universities have published a review on the treatment of biliary tract cancer in the journal "Therapeutic Advances in Medical Oncology". The researchers discuss the use of neoadjuvant therapy, palliative systemic therapy approaches and novel treatment concepts that are already being used in selected cases. These have the potential to improve patient outcomes in the future. Biliary tract cancer is currently the cancer with the worst prognosis.
