Recent publication

Peritoneal dialysis is the first-line renal replacement therapy. Due to the limitations of self-care or family-care assisted peritoneal dialysis, institutional programmes with specialized caregivers have developed in some European countries. Nephrology experts from 13 European countries evaluated existing programmes in order to learn from their experiences and promote institutional peritoneal dialysis. One of these experts was Assoc Prof Dr Martin Wiesholzer, Head of the Clinical Division of Internal Medicine 1 at KL University Hospital St Pölten.
