Pragmatic, Prospective Comparative Effectiveness Trial

... of Carbon Ion Therapy, Surgery, and Proton Therapy for the Management of Pelvic Sarcomas (Soft Tissue/Bone) Involving the Bone: The PROSPER Study Rationale and Design

Recent publication

The PROSPER study compares the efficacy of carbon ion therapy, a surgical procedure, and proton therapy in the treatment of pelvic bone and soft tissue malignancies. The design and protocol of the prospective study are freely available in the journal Cancers. While data from two study arms will be collected exclusively in the U.S., carbon ion radiotherapy will be conducted in part in Wiener Neustadt at Medaustron under the direction of Professor Dr Eugen Hug and Professor Dr Pierro Fossati, head of the Division of Radiation Oncology at Karl Landsteiner University.
