Erasmus+ Mobilities for KL Staff

The acquisition of new knowledge and skills as well as the experience of different linguistic and cultural conditions should be the focus of an Erasmus+ mobility. Administrative staff, researchers and teaching staff can apply for Erasmus+ funding for teaching and training purposes. It is also possible to combine teaching and training during the same mobility. The duration of the stay abroad in an Erasmus+ partner country must be at least 2 and a maximum of 60 consecutive days, not including travel time.

Inclusion Support

In order to guarantee equal opportunities, Erasmus+ funding is available for staff with disabilities or chronic illnesses in the form of inclusion support. Inclusion support covers additional financial costs incurred by participants with physical, mental or health impairments. Inclusion support also enables selected Erasmus+ participants to make a preparatory visit for an Erasmus+ stay by subsidising these additional costs.

Staff mobility for training purposes

Funding is primarily provided for short working periods at a host organisation abroad, job shadowing schemes, study visits, workshops and language courses. Participation in conferences is not funded. The acquisition or expansion of digital skills, such as software for digital learning, programming or specialized IT solutions for university administration are a further focus of the Erasmus programme.

Staff mobility for teaching

This activity enables KL teaching staff to teach at a partner university abroad. A teaching mobility activity must comprise at least eight teaching hours/week, even if the whole duration of the stay is less than a full week. If the mobility lasts longer than one week, the minimum number of teaching hours for the last commenced week is calculated in proportion to the days of this week.

Teaching activities in the teacher's own country of residence are not funded.

Combined mobilities

The minimum teaching obligation is reduced for combined stays. The mobility can also take place at two different institutions as long as they are located in the same country and are less than 100 km apart.

Doctoral mobility

Doctoral students who are employed at KL can also apply for Erasmus+ stays abroad for KL staff.

Additionally doctoral students have the option of student mobility. However, this must be processed via the university at which you are enrolled. In the context of student mobility, doctoral students have the opportunity for internships at partner institutions abroad. Eligible for funding are long-term mobilities that last at least 2 months and a maximum of 12 months, or short-term mobilities of at least 5 and a maximum of 30 consecutive days.  Further to discipline-specific stays abroad for students, Erasmus+ also supports the acquisition or expansion of digital skills through stays abroad. In particular, the digital areas of data analysis, data mining and visualisation, web analysis and software development are a focus of the Erasmus+ programme.
