Traumatische Ventrikelseptumruptur nach Explosionstrauma

Recent publication

A case report from the University Hospital St. Pölten on the rupture of the septum between the left and right ventricle after the early explosion of a bullet bomb in the immediate vicinity of a young man. The ventricular septal rupture could be diagnosed after several resuscitations and various examinations and successfully treated in the case described. Ventricular septal rupture after blunt trauma is exceptionally rare and the blast as a cause made it especially difficult to diagnose and therapy due to the other concomitant injuries. It’s the first report in the literature on cardiac blunt trauma after an explosion

Thanks to the support of Karl Landsteiner University, the work was published in the journal "Anaesthesiology".
