Translation, adaptation and validation

... of the German version of the Game User Experience Satisfaction Scale (GUESS-GA-18) for adolescents

Recent publication

The Game User Experience Satisfaction Scale (GUESS-18) questionnaire can be used to measure satisfaction with a video game. The Research Centre for Transitional Psychiatry deals with children and adolescents for whom video games are very important. Therefore, the questionnaire was translated from English into German and adapted for adolescents. The resulting GUESS-GA-18 questionnaire was then validated in a study with 401 adolescents. The GUESS-GA-18 is a game development instrument and measures whether children like a video game. It is also suitable for use in studies to survey gaming experience in German-speaking countries.

The work was published freely accessible in the journal "Behaviour and Information Technology". The former scientific working group D.O.T. (The Open Door) was replaced by the Research Centre Transitional Psychiatry of the Karl Landsteiner University in July 2022.
