Targeting mtDAMPed macrophages for MM therapy

The journal "Blood" published a commentary by the senior physician Prof DDr Klaus Podar on a publication (Jibril et al, 2023) on the possible role of mitochondrial DNA in multiple myeloma and the associated potential new therapeutic approaches. Although the results of the mouse model are promising, the expert points out that many questions remain unanswered and that further studies in this field must and will follow, especially on the cGAS/cGAMP/STING pathway.
