Allergen immunotherapy may help people with asthma as an additional treatment method, but there are no consistent study results. Therefore, the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) has formed an expert group to find suitable parameters for evaluating the use of allergen immunotherapy in asthmatics. The EAACI position paper was prepared with the assistance of Dr Petra Zieglmayer from the Scientific Working Group Allergology and Immunology and has been published open access in the European Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
