Recent publication

A research group with gynaecologist Dr Philipp Fößleitner and the head paediatrician Professor Dr Hans Salzer as well as Raimund Widhalm, MSc and Sebastian Granitzer, MSc, all of the University Hospital Tulln, investigated the influence of the concentration of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances in the blood serum, umbilical cord and placental tissue of the mother on certain complications during pregnancy (e.g. gestational diabetes) and on adverse pregnancy outcomes (e.g. premature birth, short stature). Data from 136 mother-infant pairs from 2017-2019 were analysed.

The work was published open access in the journal "Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety".
