Moonlight surgery

No influence of moon phase or Friday 13th on outcomes of total knee arthroplasty

In an analysis of the Tyrolean Endoprosthesis Group, which was carried out in cooperation with Prof Dr Dietmar Dammerer MSc PhD, now Head of the Clinical Division of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the University Hospital Krems, the influence of the phases of the moon on the success of a total knee endoprosthesis. The results of these knee operations performed on Friday the 13th were also compared with those performed on all other days.
