Lessons learned in adjuvant colorectal cancer
Recent publication
Dr Theresa Schmalfuß and Dr Hossein Taghizadeh, PhD, published a review on the use of adjuvant fluoropyrimidine-based chemotherapy in patients with stage 2 colorectal cancer. In addition to evaluating this therapy, which is already established for patients with stage 3 colorectal cancer, they also discuss the role of liquid biopsy in assessing residual disease and as a basis for further treatment decisions. The two junior researchers work at the University Hospital St Pölten at the Clinical Divison of Internal Medicine 1 under the direction of Primar Assoc Prof Dr Martin Wiesholzer.
The paper was published Open Access in the magazine of European medical oncology (MEMO) thanks to funding from Karl Landsteiner University.
