Flexible addition of risk modifiers

... on top of SCORE2 to improve long-term risk prediction in healthy individuals

Recent publication

Dr Gudrun Lamm from the Clinical Division of Internal Medicine 3 at St. Pölten University Hospital, together with her colleague Johann Auer, MD, FESC, FACC, FAHA, FSACI from the Department of Cardiology and Intensive Care Medicine at St. Josef Hospital Braunau, has published an editorial in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology on the routine assessment of cardiovascular risk in healthy adults. The two physicians appeal that the extension of the original risk assessment instrument (SCORE-2) by selected parameters that influence the risk of cardiovascular disease can significantly improve the validity of the measurement instrument. They refer to studies with large subject numbers. For example, combining the SCORE-2 with a heart scan increases the accuracy of the risk classification. The work was published in open access.
