
DI REGINA PLAIL
Head of Research Management, Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences
Regina Plail was born in Lower Austria. She holds a degree in Biotechnology from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (Universität für Bodenkultur). She started her early career within the pharmaceutical industry (Bender + Co, Boehringer Mannheim) in Quality control and registration of pharmaceuticals. With various activities and continuous education, she became a self-employed professional in research management within the EU Framework-Programmes starting in FP5. Collaborations on national and international level with/in university networks and with industrial research partners and working as an expert for the European Commission improved her skills for research management and grant applications.
Regina Plail started as a Research Manager at the Karl Landsteiner University in 2014. She supports strategic decisions towards implementation of research, integration of clinical departments, establishment legal frameworks and research infrastructure – but specifically provides individual support for scientific staff in the frame of the university´s research strategy, fostering career development of young researchers and high-level collaborations for departments and scientists.
Her unit oversees institutional quality management and prepares for a successful re-accreditation of KL in 2019.
