The works council is the body representing the interests of the employees at company level. Its term of office is 5 years.

The responsibilities of the works council include

  • Monitoring and control rights (e.g. compliance with the collective agreement, company agreements and employee protection regulations),
  • information rights (e.g. on the establishment and termination of employment relationships or on ongoing management matters), and
  • rights of intervention (e.g. to improve working conditions or in-company training); and
  • consultation rights (e.g., at the request of the works council, the management must hold joint consultations every quarter and provide information on important matters).

The works council office is located in the Kolpinghaus on campus (see campus map).
