Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences and its degree programmes received accreditation from the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria (AQ Austria) in November 2013.
The formal and transparent accreditation process, with its clearly defined criteria and standards, is the basis for government approval of higher education institutions and their degree programmes. AQ Austria is an independent agency which carries out external quality assurance procedures in line with Austrian and international standards, as well as certification and accreditation of higher education institutes and degree programmes. Under Austrian law, both AQ Austria and institutions seeking approval must publish the accreditation report including the agency’s decisions and justifications.
Accreditation 2013
Karl Landsteiner University was institutionally accredited by AQ Austria and the Federal Ministry of Science and Research at the end of November 2013 for a period of five years.
This confirms the university's legal status by PUG (BGBl I Nr. 74/2011 idgF) and is a guarantee of quality and adherence to strict governmental and international standards.

Reaccreditation 2019
In its 56th meeting on 11.09.2019, the Board of AQ Austria discussed the application for the extension of the institutional accreditation of Karl Landsteiner Privatuniversität für Gesundheitswissenschaften GmbH as a private university. The Board of AQ Austria has decided to grant the application for extension of institutional accreditation for a period of six years, subject to conditions. The decision is not yet legally binding.
