Co-creative in Bolzano: Towards a Competency Model for Person-Centered Care
We look back with great pleasure on the co-creative workshops of the Erasmus+ project in Bolzano (South Tyrol). These took place on March 26, 2026, with faculty and students at the Claudiana Provincial University of Applied Sciences for Health Professions and represented another important step toward a competency model for person-centered care.
Through role-playing, the students were able to portray typical practical situations based on their professional roles and subsequently link these to the elements of the model and reflect further on them.
For the faculty, an expanded version of the Disney Method was used, which facilitated a targeted shift in perspective. This resulted in a multifaceted view of the initial considerations regarding the competency model, providing valuable impetus for its further development.
We would like to sincerely thank the students and instructors for their valuable insights and their dedicated participation.
We now look forward to combining the insights gained with the workshop results from our project partners in Deggendorf (Germany), Wiener Neustadt (Austria), and Bern (Switzerland).
Free surgeries and medical care for the people of Umunohu
Organizing and managing surgeries, assisting with procedures, treating chronic wounds, and much more fall within the scope of Hanna Mayer’s responsibilities. This past January, she once again volunteered for two weeks at a small hospital in a village in the deep southeast of Nigeria.
Not only the numerous encounters with people who needed and received medical care, but also the meetings with sponsored children and student sponsors left a touching, unique, and unforgettable impression.
