Habilitation
Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences considers the habilitation to be an internationally recognised mark of quality for staff in research and teaching. The habilitation therefore contributes to the training and further education of highly qualified and committed researchers at the university.
The habilitation is proof of the ability to independently represent a scientific subject (habilitation subject) in research and teaching. The habilitation criteria should therefore be objectively comprehensible and transparent and follow the recommendations of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA; https://sfdora.org/, accessed on 18 February 2024).
The requirements for obtaining a habilitation are generally regulated in the statutes of the Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences and include the following key points:
- outstanding scientific qualifications,
- excellent teaching skills,
- thorough knowledge of the habilitation subject.
