Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences aims to make its study programmes accessible to all prospective students with the help of scholarships and other forms of financial assistance.
Study grants are available to students at private universities in Austria, and all Austrian students have the right to apply for one under the Studienförderungsgesetz (Student Support Act).

KL Scholarships for Medicine students
The scholarship offer of the Province of Lower Austria have been merged at the beginning of 2019 and made transparent and efficient on the basis of an evaluation. The main objectives are to provide students from Lower Austria with the best possible support.
In the medical field, students at the Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences are supported by a differentiated scholarship system: a social scholarship, a merit scholarship for outstanding academic achievements and a bonus for graduates who work as doctors in Lower Austria.

General practitioner Scholarship
From the academic year 2022/23 onwards, the province of Lower Austria will support students who, after completing their post-doctoral training, commit themselves to working as a general practitioner for at least 60 months in a region offered by the province of Lower Austria. Per academic year, up to 10 students of human medicine who start at least with the third academic year and can prove positive academic success of the previous year are funded.
Amount of the grant: € 11,076.00 per year/person (monthly payment: € 923.00)
Duration of funding: 12 months, extension up to a maximum of 48 months possible

ÖGK Scholarship for Medicine Students
Starting in the academic year 2022/23, the Österreichische Gesundheitskasse (ÖGK) will sponsor students of human medicine who, after completing their training, intend to work as doctors in contract with the health insurance in Austria (Kassenärztin/Kassenarzt) in the following specialties/specialties:
- General Medicine
- Pediatrics and adolescent medicine
- Gynecology and obstetrics
- Psychiatry and psychotherapeutic medicine
- Child and adolescent psychiatry
In the current academic year, 50 ÖGK scholarships are awarded in the amount of 923 euros per month. The scholarship is aimed at all students at Austrian universities who are starting at least their third year of studies and can prove positive academic results from the previous year. Students who take advantage of the scholarship commit themselves to a health insurance contract for at least five years in an ÖGK region of need after completing their professional training. The scholarship is paid out as monthly support - for up to 42 months.
Amount of the grant: monthly € 923,00
Duration of funding: 12 months (extension up to max. 42 months possible)

The scholarship offer of the Province of Lower Austria will be merged at the beginning of 2019 and made transparent and efficient on the basis of an evaluation. The main objectives are to provide students from Lower Austria with the best possible support.
Psychology students at the Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences are supported by a differentiated scholarship system: a social scholarship amounting to 25 percent of tuition fees and a merit scholarship for outstanding academic achievements.

Scholarship for students from Lower Bavaria
The district of Lower Bavaria is committed to providing good medical care in Lower Bavaria and to the next generation of doctors. Therefore, the district of Lower Bavaria grants up to five scholarships per year for medical students at the Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences.
