Regional events such as the Wachau Marathon attract hundreds of running enthusiasts each year. The City Run Krems, which starts and finishes at Campus Krems, is another highlight on the regional running calendar (website only available in German). Athletes from local running clubs and across the region take part, and the town’s universities are also represented with teams made up of students, lecturers and other staff members. The course takes in the town centre and the old town, and the spectators are close to the action all along the route.
University Sports Institute Krems (USI)
Campus Sport changes into University Sports Institute Krems (USI). USI offers students and staff based at one of the Universities of Krems a wide range of courses and events, as well as discounts at many sports and recreation facilities. Taking part in one of the comprehensive range of courses is the ideal way to keep fit and unwind after a busy day of work or studying.
USI courses cover eight different areas: recreation, dance, aerobics and fitness, ball sports, outdoor sport, water sports, family activities and martial arts. From aikido to Zumba, there are 60 different activities to keep you in shape right through the year.
