SAFESPACE

The SAFESPACE initiative is a KL network group that lives an inclusive attitude towards all sexual orientations and gender identities, including the LGBTIQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersexual, queer) community.
The basic idea of the network group is to create a SAFESPACE - i.e. a safe space for everyone - regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identities. SAFESPACE is a space for development characterised by acceptance, which is created and facilitated by all people who share our appreciative, inclusive and open attitude.
The network group organises joint activities and regular meetings that provide an opportunity for exchange and discussion of thematic events. These range, for example, from film evenings, lectures and awareness days to participation in the rainbow parade.
Cross-course and cross-disciplinary networking opportunities are created through personal exchange as well as through joint awareness-raising and interdisciplinary knowledge acquisition.
SAFESPACE creates a supportive and benevolent atmosphere for students and staff at the university, enabling everyone to realise their individual development opportunities and potential. We therefore invite everyone to join us in creating an inclusive space for development and to become part of SAFESPACE.
As a contact point for questions and concerns on topics of sexual orientation and gender identities, we also send a clear signal against discrimination.

Diversity at Karl Landsteiner University Krems

Equal opportunities for all - diversity management as a prerequisite for a modern private university.

Karl Landsteiner University (KL) strives to work on increasing awareness of gender and diversity among students, faculty, researchers, as well as in the organisation and administration. Furthermore, it is a concern to develop a leading voice as an advocate for these issues in the public as well.
