Our international research expertise in essential areas of microbiology, molecular diagnostics (DNA/RNA analysis and bioinformatics), hygiene and toxicology is contributed to the scientific education of KL students.
Advanced training
An essential part of research-guided teaching is the education of Bachelor, Master, and PhD students. Currently, 4 dissertations and 2 bachelor's and master's theses each are in progress in our division at the KL.

Practical courses
Furthermore, practical courses are offered in the bachelor's degree program Medical Science:
- Practical course Microbiology and Hygiene (BM10) in the Bachelor's program Medical Science.
- Execution of a laboratory exercise in the field of molecular biological diagnostics & biochemistry in the Bachelor's program Medical Science.
- Implementation and supervision of the elective module "Water Quality and Health" (BM12), as an important model in the field of environmental health and prevention (Bachelor's program Medical Science from SS 2021).
Management and coordination of the KL teaching laboratory
As part of our laboratory expertise, we manage, coordinate, provide and prepare the teaching laboratory for the laboratory exercises of the Bachelor of Medical Science program.
