Updated Treatment of Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug-Exacerbated Respiratory Disease : How to Decide on Aspirin Therapy After Desensitization or Biologics? When? How? An EAACI Task Force Report
Recent Publication
A current EAACI position paper with the participation of Prim. Prof. Dr Thomas Eiwegger from the Scientific Working Group Clinical Immunology summarises new recommendations for the treatment of NSAID-aggravated respiratory disease. Those affected often suffer from asthma and nasal polyps, the symptoms of which are exacerbated by painkillers such as aspirin. A proven therapy is so-called aspirin desensitisation with subsequent long-term treatment, which can reduce inflammation and polyp growth. At the same time, modern biologics are becoming increasingly important as they also improve symptoms and quality of life.
