Un/Doing Violence and Un/Doing Care : Borderline practices in the context of violence in elderly care from a transdisciplinary perspective.

Recent Publication

The book “Gewaltfrei arbeiten und leben” by Abramowski, Meyerhuber and Rust is about how violence and care can intertwine in elderly care. From various professional perspectives, they show that violence does not only have to be overt and physical, but also arises through structures and everyday routines - often unnoticed. At the same time, it questions how care staff deal with these tensions and where they set (or do not set) boundaries between professional closeness and the protection of older people. Dr. Vera Gallistl-Kassing BA MA from the Division of Gerontology and Health Research was involved in this important work, which sheds light on care in old age in a differentiated and practical way.
