The Palliative Medicine Working Group of German Cancer Aid has published a standard operating procedure (SOP) for dealing with multi-resistant pathogens on palliative care units in the journal ‘Oncology’. In addition to a German research team, Dr Peter Stachura, MBA from the Division of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at KL University Hospital was also involved in drawing up the SOP.
