The Significance of Different Treatment Modalities During Transition from Adolescence to Adulthood
Recent Publication
The transition from childhood to adulthood is often a difficult phase psychologically. For young people with mental illnesses, the transition from paediatric and adolescent psychiatry to adult psychiatry can be an enormous hurdle. A recently published paper presents how the University Hospital Tulln solves this problem: a special care system ensures that young adults receive seamless care through close cooperation between the two specialist departments. A case study is used to show how crucial flexible and customised therapy services are in order to ensure continuous and successful treatment at this sensitive stage of life.
