In memory of Dr. Richard Seaman this science award will be given this year and over the next four years to graduates of the Master Study Programe „Human Medicine“ at Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences.

The US-American physician and veterinarian Richard Seaman dedicated his life with passion to his profession and scientific research.
Richard Seaman succumbed to the consequences of a stroke during a Danube boat trip with his wife during a journey to Europe in 2018.
With this award, the Seaman family thanks the team of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Christoph Hörmann for the great treatment and care in the intensive care unit of the St, Pölten University Hospital as well as the empathetic support of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Johannes Streicher, Professor of Anatomy and Developmental Biology at KL, in taking the necessary steps after the death of Rick Seaman and in fulfilling his last will.
