Risk Perception for Developing Cardiometabolic Disease Among Women Diagnosed with Preeclampsia and Gestational Diabetes Mellitus
Recent Publication
Pregnancy complications such as pre-eclampsia (PE) and gestational diabetes (GDM) increase the risk of cardiometabolic diseases (CMD) such as cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. A study of 161 affected women at St. Pölten University Hospital showed that only around half correctly assessed their future risk. Women with PE were less informed than women with GDM, and almost 44% of participants were unaware of the link between pregnancy complications and CMD.
