A recent study with Prim. Clin. Assoc. Prof. PD Dr Josef Singer MBA PhD from the Department of Internal Medicine 2 (UK Krems) is investigating the treatment of aggressive lymph node cancer that returns or does not respond to therapy. The results show that modern therapies can significantly prolong survival in everyday clinical practice. Patients with new therapeutic approaches lived significantly longer on average than those with conventional treatment alone. At the same time, these advances are associated with significantly higher costs. The results emphasise the challenge of making effective innovations in cancer medicine sustainable and accessible to all.
