New research project: Interview study on changes to the law in child and adolescent psychiatry
Call for participation in a study
The Research Centre for Transitional Psychiatry is currently conducting a qualitative interview study on a recently introduced change in child and adolescent psychiatry legislation. This change allows child and adolescent psychiatrists in Austria to treat their patients until the age of 25 - a decision that could have far-reaching consequences for the psychiatric care of young adults.
As part of the study, experienced professionals will be interviewed to gather their perspectives on this change. The aim is to gain valuable insights into the attitudes, perceptions and experiences of child and adolescent psychiatrists and to understand how the new age limit could impact clinical practice. The interviews will be conducted over the phone or on online platforms (Zoom, Teams) and will last approximately 20-30 minutes.
The aim of this study is not only to gather opinions, but also to gain insights into how the change in the law can shape the transition from adolescence to young adulthood. The research centre invites all interested and qualified professionals to participate and offers a fee of 70 euros for their time and effort.
Interested child and adolescent psychiatrists who have been working in Austria for at least one year can contact the e-mail address of Matthias Neumann MSc MA (matthias.neumann@kl.ac.at) and thus make a valuable contribution to this important research work.
