Transition refers to the change from an adolescence to adulthood. In psychiatric care, this means that patients move from paediatric and adolescent psychiatry to adult psychiatry. Transitional psychiatry acts as an interface and supports the transition process. In order to identify necessary services, researchers from the Research Centre Transitional Psychiatry conducted 35 expert interviews and two focus groups. The interviewees and focus group participants were professionals from inpatient and outpatient settings. Thanks to open access funding from Karl Landsteiner University, the results of this qualitative study were published freely accessible in the journal ‘psychopraxis. neuropraxis’.
