Long-Term Outcomes of Targeted Volume Overload Management in Patients With Severe Aortic Stenosis
Recent Publication
A current study involving the Department of Internal Medicine III at University Hospital St. Pölten is investigating the long-term effects of targeted fluid management in patients with severe aortic valve stenosis. A special measurement method was used to recognise hidden fluid overload in the body at an early stage and treat it in a targeted manner. The results show that this procedure significantly reduces the risk of hospitalisation for heart failure even three years after valve replacement. There was also a trend towards lower mortality compared to conventional treatment based on medical judgement.
