KL Academy: Launch of the new certificate course "Therapeutic possibilities of evidence-based phytotherapy"

In November 2024, the first course of the certificate programme "Therapeutic possibilities of evidence-based phytotherapy" took place at KL. A total of 20 doctors, pharmacists and interested parties from other professional groups in the healthcare sector are taking part in this university-based further training course and acquiring specialised knowledge and therapeutic skills in phytotherapy.

In his opening remarks, Rector Prof. Dr Rudolf Mallinger emphasised the purely evidence-based, practice- and implementation-oriented knowledge transfer of the course. Top speakers with national and international experience impart therapeutic approaches and methods for prophylaxis with medicinal products of herbal origin, emphasising that the approach is based exclusively on medical and scientific principles.

The certificate course is led by Prof. Dr. Kurt Widhalm and Prof. Dr. Brigitte Kopp and is supported by various scientific organisations. We would also like to thank all sponsoring partners.

The certificate programme comprises 25 ECTS, has a duration of 2 semesters and is run on a part-time basis. It provides scientifically sound knowledge on the use of herbal medicinal products and opens up a broader perspective on potential therapeutic effects using state-of-the-art analytical techniques.

You can read all the details about the course under "Therapeutic possibilities of evidence-based phytotherapy".

Due to the high demand, a further course is planned for autumn 2025.
