The implementation of a streamlined TAVI patient pathway across five European countries : BENCHMARK registry

An international study has shown that the introduction of a standardised treatment pathway for patients with severe aortic valve stenosis (TAVI) in five European countries - including Austria - leads to significantly shorter hospital and intensive care stays without compromising safety. In Austria, the team from Internal Medicine 3 at St. Pölten University Hospital, co-authored by Dr Julia Mascherbauer was involved. Particularly exciting: despite the patients' sometimes high risk profiles, the processes were optimised and complications reduced.
