The Impact of Overweight and Obesity on Pregnancy : A Narrative Review of Physiological Consequences, Risks and Challenges in Prenatal Care, and Early Intervention Strategies
Recent Publication
A new article shows how strongly overweight and obesity can influence the course of a pregnancy - and not just in individual aspects, but throughout the pregnancy. The authors make it clear that overweight pregnant women have different physical conditions, for example with regard to the development of gestational diabetes or complications during labour. Examinations such as ultrasounds can also be more difficult. Early counselling and targeted measures before and during pregnancy therefore play a key role.
