The ‘Geriatric Institutional Assessment Profile’: translation into German, cultural adaptation and pre-testing

Hospital stays can be a major challenge for older people, especially if care is not organised in an age-appropriate way. In order to improve care in German-speaking hospitals, the ‘Geriatric Institutional Assessment Profile’ has been translated and adapted into German. This tool helps to assess the quality of care for elderly patients. Prof. Dr Hanna Mayer from the Department of Nursing Science with a focus on Person-Centred Care Research was part of the team of authors.
