Extracorporeal Life Support for Post-Cardiotomy Acute Right Ventricular Failure : a Retrospective Observational Multicenter Study
Recent Publication
An international study is investigating the use of extracorporeal circulatory support for severe right heart failure following heart surgery. The results show that affected patients have more frequent complications and require more intensive care. Nevertheless, the chances of survival in hospital and in the long term hardly differ from those of other patient groups with similar treatment. Despite higher risks, this form of therapy can therefore achieve comparable results.
