Evaluating flourishing: a comparative analysis of four measures using item pool visualization
Recent Publication
How exactly well-being or flourishing, a high level of well-being, can best be measured is not precisely defined. A new study, in which Veronika Ploke and Professor Stefan Stieger from the Department of Psychological Methodology are involved, looks at four different measurement instruments and compares them. The PERMA Profiler, the Mental Health Continuum-Short Form, the Flourishing Scale and the Wellbeing Conceptual Framework are being investigated in a German-speaking sample. The study uses Item Pool Visualisation (IPV) to clearly illustrate the similarities and differences between the instruments. The results show that all four instruments are suitable for measuring flourishing, but differ in their applicability. While some instruments provide a more comprehensive picture of wellbeing, the Wellbeing Conceptual Framework provides a more specific assessment.
