The ELIMINATE project
A systematic PCR record-based re-call of HCV-RNA-positive people enables re-linkage to care and HCV elimination in Austria
Recent publication
The ELIMINATE project (ELIMINation of HCV in AusTria East) aims to reintegrate people with a ‘last-positive’ HCV RNA PCR record into medical care. This initiative supports the World Health Organisation's (WHO) goal of eliminating hepatitis C by systematically contacting patients who tested positive for HCV in medical records between 2008 and 2020. Livia Dorn, Martin Willheim, Florian Riedl and Andreas Maieron from St. Pölten University Hospital played a key role in this project.
