A current editorial with Prim. Prof. Dr. Thomas Eiwegger shows how important it is to recognise allergies as early as possible in life and to take targeted preventative measures. The experts propose a structured approach in which children are assessed for their allergy risk as part of routine preventive check-ups. In this way, children who are particularly at risk can be identified at an early stage and receive individual counselling or further examinations. The aim is to mitigate or even prevent the progression of the disease and at the same time make care more efficient. The work was funded by the FWF (WEAVE programme, grant 10.55776/I6897) and the Danube Allergy Research Cluster (DARC).
